Karen Lean

Certified Kripalu Yoga Teacher

Karen became a certified Kripalu Yoga Teacher to share the gifts her ten year practice has given her. She brings joy and humour to her classes, and encourages beginner's mind with the notion that even experienced practitioners gain something from exploring basic postures. She guides asana with attention to alignment principles, yet emphasizes a spirit-centered practice that explores relaxation, meditation and self-acceptance. Jai Bhagwan.

About Kripalu Yoga

Kripalu Yoga is a style of yoga for everyone.

Your teacher is a guide on the journey. The ultimate authority is your body. You are encouraged to find compassion, kindness, and gentleness in your practice. We work together to find your edge, the place where you effort without straining, the place of sensation without pain, the place of challenge you welcome with an open heart.

An important part of Kripalu Yoga is meditation. But it's not what you may think of as meditation. There are many ways to meditate, and sitting is just one of them. The third stage of Kripalu Yoga is called "Meditation in Motion".

Yoga is a practice of uniting with source, whatever that may mean to you. Find a connection with God, with the earth, your body, and yourself. We work on breath, meditation, and asana (postures) in an atmosphere of non-judgment.
